Do you focus more on reviewing or teaching new concepts before a break? Do struggle to help your students stay focused until break?

I have news for you...You don’t have to sacrifice great learning to keep your students engaged before Christmas break. AND…

You don’t have to spend hours planning either.

Listen in.

What teacher isn’t stressed out and needing more than 24 hours in a day right about now? Hardly anyone. Well here’s some tips for your holiday literacy plans that will keep kids engaged without sacrificing learning.

I know you don’t want to slow down and waste a minute when your students are already struggling from the last year [or more] of confusion. But, students are understandably excited and ready for Christmas break. So let’s get proactive and make the learning jam-packed with engaging books and projects.

My solution…is gingerbread. There are tons of fun versions of the classic gingerbread boy story out there. This makes for an easy unit filled with fun and learning.

In this episode, find out:

  • What books I've included in the plans for my K-2 Literacy Success Lab Members and how you can do similar activities in your classroom.
  • The teaching points you can cover in reading and writing with these books.
  • How to easily implement a project for your class without a lot of hassle.
  • My tips for what projects you can do and how they benefit your students.

So listen in to this episode for all the goodness, grab those gingerbread books, pair them up, and choose a project to go with them. [and don't forget to grab the free Gingerbread Books Bimoji Read-Aloud Library].

I can't wait for you to get started!
