HOPE: Sharing the Load

HOPE

Have you ever thought to ask your students or colleagues what burdens you can help them carry?

We all have burdens. We are hunched over with the effort to carry them. God asks to help us carry our burdens. "Come to me, all you who are weary. For my burden is easy and my yoke is light." Mt 11:28-30 Hmmm. That doesn't mean we will have an easy time of it, but it does mean we can trust God to help us.

Hope.
Hope.

Sometimes, the way God helps us is through others. Come along side someone today. Be God's hands and feet, and offer to help them carry their burden through prayer. Offer to pray for them and whatever their burden is, right there. Don't wait until later. Just do it. I promise it will be a game changer in more ways than you can possibly imagine.

We walk around telling others we are fine, which is probably true. But, we all deserve better than than just "fine". Being social animals by nature, we desire connections with others. We are not designed to operate on our own. Reach out this Lent. Pray together. Offer hope. Be Simon for each other and help shoulder your neighbor's cross by praying withthem. Praying with others is such a simple thing, yet, so powerful.

Teach joyfully,

Lisa
